Before You Come

What to know before your hunt.

Licenses & Stamps

All waterfowl hunters must possess valid Louisiana hunting licenses and required state and federal duck stamps. Hog hunts on private land do not require a license. We’re happy to point you to the right resources if you’re traveling in.

What’s Included

Your reservation covers exclusive access to your rented blind or timber hole, parking, and field/ATV access. Guide services and decoy spreads are available for an additional fee on most hunts. Snow goose conservation hunts are priced per hunter and available self-guided or guided.

Lodging & RV Hookups

RV and camper hookups are available on-site at our Merryville property (limited availability). Let us know when you book if you’d like a spot so we can reserve it for your group.

What to Bring

Waders, your shotgun and non-toxic shot, appropriate camo/weather layers, valid licenses and stamps, food and drinks for the blind, and a cooler for your birds. For hog hunts, bring your rifle and ATV gear as needed.

Most A&L hunts are self-guided blind and timber rentals — you reserve the spot and hunt at your own pace. Guide services and decoy spreads are available upon request on most hunts, and snow goose conservation hunts can be booked self-guided or fully guided.

Depending on the location and season: mallards, teal, gadwall, wood ducks and other ducks, plus snow and blue geese during the conservation season. Whitetail and hog combos are available on the Merryville property.
